Week 4 BSG Spooky Spiders - Bonus Blog - Spark Friends

Sunday, October 28, 2012

Our extra blog for this week's A&I BSG challenge is to write about 3 Spark Friends who have helped us in our Spark journey to healthiness. This is a real challenge because there are so many who have helped me and I don't want to leave out anyone, so I hope not to inadvertently hurt anyone's feelings.

This journey has been a long, slow one for me, but I have to say that the Aspire to Inspire team and the BSG challenges have been the most helpful to me in my journey. I am not sure when or how I came upon this team, but the BSG challenges have really been an awesome encouragement to me. Shortly after I joined the team I was invited to become a co-leader, so here is my list of ladies who have been all-important in my journey.

DSCHAMBERS - I have been spark friends with Debbie for as long as I can remember. We seem to have an ability to know just what to say to one another at any given time. Debbie says I am able to provide just the right words she needs. Well, that works both ways. She is equally encouraging to me. It really is true that inspiring someone else is also motivating to yourself. Thank you Debbie for being there when I need you.

CJWORDPLAY – This is another spark friend that I have known for as long as I can remember. CJ also seems to have the ability to provide me with the encouragement and inspiration I need just when I need it.

TUPPENCE03 – Linda has an amazing story of survival after her accident. She has shared that story and that story has provided the motivation I needed at times when I was struggling. If she can have her amazing attitude after all she has been through there is no way that I will give up. Thank you Linda for sharing your story!

ANH102712 – I met Andrea on a couple of different teams including the Aspire to Inspire team. She was really a motivation to me to get into the exercise streak. For several months we had challenges to get in a certain number of fitness minutes each month. Andrea really got my exercise minutes up to where they are now. She hasn't been as active the past few months as she was planning her wedding which happened yesterday, the 27th, and I have truly missed her.

There are many other spark friends who have played a major role in my journey, and I hope that no one is offended if their name doesn't appear in this blog. Also, RFJS50, IZZYBEBOP and DSCHAMBERS I want to thank you for inviting me to be a co-leader of the A&I team because that too has been a great help to me. And, thank you for all of the work you do to keep this team going. We truly have made a great team working together to keep the BSG team challenges going and I believe those are instrumental in my motivation. It really helps me to have teammates that I don't want to let down.

An awesome blog! I have to agree this is a difficult assignment because it's hard to select only 3 ---there are so many that have all helped me in many different ways.
