I dropped off the face of the earth

Thursday, October 25, 2012

First my college roommate dies suddenly, then my dad died slowly. It has been a rough 96 days away and I have gained 18 pounds.
A few days ago, I ran into someone who had lost 50 pounds in 4 months. I couldn't believe the change. He told me it was due to Herbalife and wouldn't you know it, he was a distributor. So now I am on day one of the Herbalife diet, but am already eating too little. I am supposed to eat 1399 calories a day and that just seems like a tremendous amount of food in addition to the two shakes. I don't know how to do it right without overeating. I need it written out for me, I guess, so there is no wiggle room.
Am walking to the gym three times a week with my husband, lifting weights there, and walking home.
I'd appreciate it if anyone has any advice regarding Herbalife.

i'm so sorry for you losses. that's tough. emoticon
when i started sp, i realized i knew how to over eat, and i knew how to under eat, but i didn't know how to eat for health and life. so, that has been my goal throughout this process. discovering what "just right" eating looks like for me.
from my perspective, imho, using shakes can be a temporary solution to a life-long problem. it may be a bandaid for a while, but if you don't "heal" the injury, it'll continue to be a pain. you might lose 20 lb, but you still haven't learned how to eat. so, i would just urge caution.

I know nothing about it, but first of all, I'm so sorry for your recent losses. I can't imagine going through all of that and how hard it must have been (and continue to be!)

Secondly, welcome back! Like I said, I know nothing about it - but hope you find success with it!

Way to go on the walking to the gym w/your dh & lifting weights. Not too sure about herbalife but sparkpeople has great meal suggestions and tracking. Binge eating is a tough one for me to control. Best wishes on your success!
