What you fancy does you good." said an Irish grandmother. I heard this quote and thought what a wonderful insight. So often in the past I've eaten things that I really don't fancy at all. It simply wasn't good food. It wasn't particularly tasty or nutritious. So why was I eating it? Convenience, to fill up on something, to quell an emotion....but really IT just didn't work.
Since joining SP, I have been making better food choices. Reflecting on this quote, I also realize that I'm eating more of what I fancy. I'm enjoying my choices now. They don't have that empty, unsatisfying feeling.
Tonight for dinner, I had a bit of salmon, a sweet potato with cinnamon and toast-of course. I've always fancied toast. My toast choice was Pepperidge Farm VERY thin bread.

Now I wonder why I don't employ this quote in other parts of my life. Am I doing things I fancy? After raising a large family, I put my needs and likes second. Either I've forgotten or never really developed a deep fancy for activities (except the woods), So it's time to do some investigating. What do I fancy? Surely those things will be really good for me.

    Oh my yes - I'm finding I have a lot of 'fancys'.....I'm learning to love aquasize!! Who knew?? Not sure it's getting weight off yet (only been less than 3 weeks) but I feel stronger -- especially in my legs which have had the knee replacements! You're right its never too late to realize what we just might 'fancy'....thanks for sharing your blog!

    Fancy! You know doing things that you fancy will make you happier, that's seriously true. I'm finally doing things I love and want to do for me and I'm a happier and better person for it.
    One of my son's friends uses the word Fancy alot to describe how he's feeling. Maybe he's on to something too.

    I hope thisnew mindset works out for you. I have to go against my preference for sedentary life to get my fitness on and even to keep my house clean.
