Spotting problem areas and adapting

Tuesday, October 23, 2012

I have noticed that when I am home or working, I am a lot more structured. However, when I am out and/or social I tend to be less disciplined. It seems like more of an effort to find out what's in the food and to track it, I just want to have fun with my friends and worry about it. I now realize this is a problem area that needs adjustment.

I'm also trying to figure out how to work in exercise when I work 12 hour days because quite honestly, I just don't want to. Right now I'm concentrating on the food aspect and will be working in the exercise but I'm not sure how to go about it yet.

On an up note, I have been sticking to the eating better overall and I'm happy to be able to still have some treats, just in moderation. I doubt I would even be trying without sparkpeople so I appreciate this resource and the support from everyone here.

It is so very hard to get those exercises in with the long day. I use to find myself skipping stuff when I had a 12. Now I make a point to do mini workouts through out the day. 5 minutes every hour or half hour even. With such a short time I have no problem doing it and it adds up to quite a bit when I do it every 30 min.
