The Downward Spiral

Sunday, October 21, 2012

For the last few weeks, I have NOT been a good girl. I will do well all day long, but at night, I lose all control. I haven't gained a lot of weight back - only about 3 pounds - but I feel like crap. My body hurts all the time (because I quit my nightly walking a month ago), I feel tired and sluggish, but most of all, I feel like I have utterly abandoned myself. Where I had so much pride in myself a few week and months ago has now become a mental game of beating myself to a pulp. I need to get a grip. I have so many goals and no "umph" to do them. I don't want to fail. I want to get to my goals and be proud of myself. I just feel like a loser (only not - because I'm not losing anymore!) I know how to do it right, just need the discipline to do it. I have NO will power. *sigh* Today is the start of a new week. Need to do it right and get back on track.

Keep working at it! Road bumps are going to happen and sometimes the stretch of road that is bumpy seems longer than necessary, but it's all part of the journey. Reading this blog sounded like something that would come out of my head. When I hit these periods where I feel like I have no "get up and go" I come up with one small step, like drinking water, or even just giving a two minute stretch in the morning. Something small and easy to do. I expand from there. It might help you get things going again!

You have such a sweet and beautiful smile! You have made great progress so far! You have a wonderful family that is following in your foot steps! Where do you want them to go? Can you do your walk at a different time of day...maybe before lunch, or right after the kids leave for school? Remember the habits that have worked for you before and plan to do one or two of them this week. Are you keeping up with your water drinking? Maybe a new healthy recipe the family would enjoy would be fun! Remember your strengths! How do you want to start the new year? Hang in there - you're worth it!
