Adjusting to my meal plan

Saturday, October 20, 2012

The first two days (Sunday and Monday) went really well. But Monday I went to bed feeling a little hungry. Since I still have a lot of trouble telling hungry from bored, I just ignored it. But I woke up REALLY hungry. I had no gym planned on Tuesday so I just ate my normal breakfast and didn't really feel satisfied at the end. The rest of the day was somewhat okay, but I felt weird inside.

Then Wednesday morning I had a headache. At the gym it wasn't too bad, but it got worse and worse throughout the day. Then I realized maybe I'm just not eating enough. Not by a lot, but if I add a portion or two to my meal plan... I didn't go to zumba because of said headache, and I spent the night bingeing on... carrots. XD I ate a whole bag. And felt better after.

So Thursday morning I added another toast to my breakfast, with chocolate spread on it, and was already better for the whole day. I'm still readjusting but it's like my brain tells me I don't have the rights to modify this plan, that was given to me by a nutritionist. Like she'll always be 100% right the first time! I'm meeting with her again in November so I'll tell her then that the plan made my hungry and what I added to it.

Everything else is going very well. My gym times are intense and my new programs are leaving me sore :P until I get used to them, of course. But I had trouble leaving my arms straight down yesterday because it hurt around my elbow!!! XD it NEVER hurt there!

I took a walk Thursday night and felt amazing for some reason. I kept smiling to everyone who crossed my path. I was wearing my new Fall coat I bought at Costco - a medium size - and my hands were in its pockets. I noticed, while looking at my shadow, that there was a lot of space between my arms (elbows) and my waist. For some reason it cheered me up. I felt like running but I wasn't wearing the right clothes :P so I just walked very fast and was able to 2.3 kms in half an hour. My average speed used to be 1.8 kms for half an hour... SO YAY!

Yesterday I swam, and felt awesome in my bikini. I have a waist! It is defined! My stomach is starting to get defined! Woohoo!

I also started reading a book that my boyfriend received when he subscribed to our gym (I got one about losing 30 pounds in 3 months and he got a more general one about health and exercise). It's pretty cool! I loved their approach of losing weight sloooowly and never being in a hurry. They propose a whole plan with a 1-month rest, aka a "forced plateau". There's a lot of exercise ideas that you can easily do at home. The first part of the book is all the scientific explanations about how you gain and lose weight, how to lose weight, and how to lose weight WELL (aka lose mostly fat and just a little muscles and water).

On a last positive note, I'm now a level 8 with my spark points :) I know I'm not very active on the website - I'm part of a lot of teams but I haven't visited them since the Summer, and I don't have a lot of contacts with my spark friends, sorry :( - but I'm still coming every day to read everyone's blog posts, spin the wheel, track my fitness and follow my streaks!

Did the nutritionist know the level of activity you were going to participate in when you did your plan?
If you're always hungry and getting headaches it's generally a sign that you're not fueling your body properly.

I can't wait to get to the point where I feel confident in a bikini
