Well, I fell again Wednesday morning. These things are really hurting!!!! I'm still in a cast from my fall 2 1/2 weeks ago. My ribs were starting to heal until this last fall. Had x-rays of lower back and showed no fractured but there were degenerative changes again. The day after the fall I found a swollen and very painful spot about mid-back and I am very sore on part of my ribs again and goes around to and includes my abdomen. In April I had 3 abdominal hernia repairs and a large mesh put in place over the entire abdomen. I sure hope I didn't tear the mesh loose. When I fell I also heard a loud crack from my back. Getting pretty concerned about all of these falls. My BP was fine before I fell. PT was here when it happened. I went to the doctor's within an hour. My BP was fine when at the drs but when the dr saw me he retook my BP and it was 100/60. Standing BP was the same. I'm having an echo cardiogram and a Carotid Doppler test on Tuesday and will be seeing the dr on Wednesday. I'll have him check my back again at that time; especially if the pain and lump by my spine are still there. Aw shucks! I guess I might as well have him check my abdomen as well. Sure hope I didn't tear the mesh away!! So, I'm still laying around quite a bit other than to go out for breakfast 2x a week (healthy breakfast). The PT comes out 3x a week to work on my shoulders. Not liking having to be in this wheel chair AGAIN!!!!!

Will keep you all informed.

Falling is an aquired art. You must learn how to fall. i have been falling for 3 years now and know how to fall. Or are those famous last words (before I do myself in).

Sorry to read about these challenges. Time to fall-proof your environment & examine if any medications could also contribute. I know it must be very disconcerting. Hang in there & get well soon!!!
