Measuring the race in forward movement

Managed to lose another......2/10th of a pound lol! It's better than the alternative, which I've done plenty of times. It's been a rough week, too, and I honestly expected to have gained, so I am satisfied with this success, albeit a tiny one.

A little over a week ago, found what I thought was a zit (yeah, a 50-year old battling zits! Whodathunkit?) It turned out to be a cyst which became infected, and that caused cellulitis in just a few short days. Darned weekends, when you can't call the doctor's office and think a zit is no cause for real alarm...to make a long story short, it can be! Now I am fighting what could be a serious infection, and it makes me feel lousy, plus the site is tender.

I suppose I could say it's a good thing that it robs my appetite. The problem is, it also makes me want lousy foods when I do want something. Of all odd things, I craved breakfast cereal! *giggle* I did manage to eat some oatmeal instead. I am keeping up my calories. Not always in the healthiest way, but I'm trying most of the time.

All of this said, it's all just a little bump in the road. I have faith that it will be over soon, that I will feel better, and things will be back to normal. Wish me luck!

There are days that I'm so grateful for my scale measuring to the fraction of a pound, rather than just the whole pound. A fractional loss is better than a gain, and I'll take it any day!! After all, those fractions eventually add up to whole pounds (which I keep telling myself to try and keep my motivation going).

Not feeling well makes me crave those 'comfort foods' which usually equate to insanely high in calories. All I can say is congratulations on overcoming those cravings to continue the journey in the right direction! Hopefully that infection will clear up quickly and you'll be going full tilt again.
