great ideas received, thank you; info everyone should be aware of !!

In regards to my prior two blogs and the subjects created on ‘post a message’ area, I have received some wonderful info and suggestions regarding this issue, and thank everyone for their replies!

It appears many folks have experienced the same concern and I am pleased to know I am not alone with this concern.

The suggestions I have received from other ‘Sparkers’ have been of great help.
It was requested by several people to let them know what I find out, so for those of you
who are curious, it appears to be a few things that have caused this to happen.

The following is three of the replies I received and these replies duplicated by several others:

First, the figures entered by some sparkpeople members contain incorrect information. Secondly, it appears it depends in some cases on what brand of product is being used. Thirdly, sometimes the measurements are off – for instance in my case the recipe called for 2 cups of crushed tortilla chips, how many chips is 2 cups?

Thanks to all and hopefully this will be of assistance to others out there too.

I'm learning when I find an SP recipe I like, I do the 'Makeover" just be be sure it's accurate.

I've found the same thing to be true. Sometimes I think that people make a dish without a recipe and then go back and estimate how much they added of each ingredient. I now keep a measuring cup and electronic scale on the counter when I cook and serve.
