I've had it. I'm over this. I've tried so many times before without success and just feeling like a failure.
Have you guessed what I'm talking about yet?
If you guesses SMOKING CIGARETTES, give yourself a round of applause. No, seriously. Clap your hands in front of your computer screen
Sorry. Can you tell I'm REALLY excited about being done with smoking once and for all? I've tried to quit several times before without success, but I spoke to a coworker and did some research about Chantix. I know what you're thinking. Isn't that the one that makes people hide in their bedrooms and jump off of buildings? Fair enough, but at this point, I'm willing to try anything to stop. NOW do you see how serious I am about this?
My lady doctor is the one who suggested it and gave me the freedom to research it and call her if I decided it was something I wanted to try. After speaking with my coworker who used to be my smoking buddy about how she quit, she told me it was Chantix and that she hasn't had ANY issues on it. I know everyone is different, but I'm trying to be positive and believe that this could really help me quit as well. I'm taking my first dose tomorrow morning and I've set my quit date for this Sunday (since you can still smoke during the first week you are taking it).
Now, my second piece of news...the reason I asked my lady doctor about smoking cessation methods is because Tim and I made the decision that we want to start trying to have a family in the beginning of 2013. I am SO excited about this prospect. Things are going better than ever and once I have had 3 months smoke-free and I reach my pre-preggo goal weight (140 lbs), we're doing it (literally - LOL - sorry TMI).
Anyway, exciting times in the Murphy household. I will keep you all posted on how my first week on the crazy drug goes. haha. Have a great week everyone!
