You know it's Monday

Monday, October 15, 2012

...When everything seems to happen at once.
...When you have to deal with everything that came in on Friday closing time in my home e-mail that is due today.
...When nothing quite goes right.

You know it's Monday when you are awake enough in the morning, and dropping by suppertime.

...when you step on the scale, or realize you forgot to do it in the morning.
...When you can't wait for the weekend.
...When payday is Monday and not Friday.

Last night I made my lunch for today. It was a good thing, because this morning was one of those hectic anything can happen and it does mornings.

I am realizing that I do not do well with stress.
It affects my skin and I am having a big time eczema breakout.
That is going to be one of my main focal points - finding ways to keep the stress OUT of my life.
I find that opening a vitamin e capsule helps my face/skin when I have a breakout. I squeeze it out and pat it on my cheeks and forehead and it reduces the angry redness a lot.

Positive thoughts:
Yesterday I painted a corner hutch (first coat) that we got second hand for free. It is cute, not huge, and fits one of my corners in my kitchen / dining nook.

I am too tired to give it a 2nd coat tonight. I won't stress over that.
After I washed out my brushes yesterday I realized I should have painted the lower wall areas white that are still turquoise in my kitchen. Oh well, that will wait til I do the 2nd coat on the hutch. I can't wait to dig my china out of the closet and actually be able to put it out and use it.

The other thing I did on Saturday for fun was to go to an annual warehouse sale and buy kitchen linens and things by the pound to use for Christmas gifts. Such fun! I bought my husband and oldest son masculine butcher aprons, and even found a couple of chef hats. One for my little grandson and his dad, and a pink camouflage one for me. I may use it as a pattern to make others. I went with a girlfriend, then we had lunch.

I think I will pull out my crocheting tonight again. I haven't done any in over a month. That should be a good relaxing activity, that and reading. I really should finish an overdue book.

So, it's Monday, but right now that doesn't feel so bad. It means I am one day closer to the weekend.

I know it's Monday when I think how much I don't want to go to work, but do it anyway. Now, I'm planning to retire. I'll have to find something else to tell me it's Monday. Should be fun.
