#BAD12 , #PowerOfWe , #Blogactionday - The SparkPeople Community Team

Nutrition knowledge and motivation mentor -- that's what I was. Two years ago, on SparkPeople, which is my only blogsite, I had gotten the Community Team involved and it resulted in continuing to motivate a talented, out-there member of the SparkPeople community.

Unfortunately, since that Fall, two years ago; a necessary job-shift at my place of business caused me to little by little let go of helping organizing the help brigade that the Community Team on SparkPeople is known for. Gone were some hours for leisure and planning

There had been a blog post that affected me .. a professional humorist/stage performer who is on Spark and is one of my SparkFriends, wrote a blog about how her computer died and it yanked at my heartstrings (... all possible snooty college professor thoughts of ad misericordiam aside--I freaking LIVED MY version of it in 2003 near Denver, Colorado... this is in addition to what she has done for the team I used to actively co-lead, Don't want 2 be fat or skinny, how about inbetween ... and so I answered the call!!)

Sure, in Spark's vast meadow of Bright-Sidedness (and I mean it in the nicest take on the Barbara Ehrenreich sense) lies this one astute and articulate Vale of Discouragement (but about the economy, not about the SparkPeople Program); I saw it generating a comment every couple hours from among her then-friends list (by then it had become quite a bit bigger ... there's more ...) and so I then decided to publicize it to two Community Business Teams and on my feed.

The response was overwhelming, and I appreciated it. I shared the wealth of my winnings of 1,000 Spark Goodie Points the other day, either in my appreciation of everybody who answered the call or new Sparkfriends or new Sparkers along the way.

Please believe me when I say that I had come by those winnings honestly, although there may be times that, were SparkPoints a scarcity model (which it is not), given the few hours (and slow system at home) that I have to devote to Sparking in a day ... I would fight anyone over those SparkPoints ... But I am one of the worst guilt-trippers in the universe ... particularly since that time; that won't change any time soon ...

[To those who do not know what SparkGoodies are, they are illustration/photo icons that cost no cash-money, that are earned from activity on SparkPeople, again, costing no cash-money, unlike enhanced social gaming, which does.]

The best thing about yoga off the mat (compassion and reaching out, known as seva in Sanskrit) is that it sometimes affects greatly wonderfully your yoga ON the mat ... ! I don't have the greatest expectations anyway for the physical side of the practice; I am nursing a torn meniscus as well as bursitis in my arm; plus I'm not young ... and I have had a totally at-home, primarily self-sequenced yoga practice for over a year (that may soon change; but I will never become a studio-only or mostly yoga practitioner) ... I set the standards, and just show up in my own space in my own apartment, on THAT one!

The power of WE has enabled my Spark Friend to not leave SparkPeople and to become very fit since that time. In my world, fitness can happen at any size. Unlike me, exercise, is more her bag. Like me, she cannot afford a personal trainer, a private yoga teacher, a spa, a retreat, any workshops, any led bootcamps [the list goes on and on and on] ...

I feel a little guilty that I hit a 5 Rhythms workshop the other week ... a little better off than this SparkFriend is ...

Well, I do have to say ... spiritual movement practices are not only for the well-heeled. We dance barefoot [but I digress] ...

Anyway, I want to emphasize that #BAD12 , #PowerOfWe , #Blogactionday happens online and wherever it can .... The Power of We.

I need to blog today October 15, Official Blog Action Day to motivate myself for involvement with Community Team again!

I don't have a personal trainer, nor can I afford a spa, but I do indulge in classes several times a week. My self-starter seems to fail me much of the time, so the aspect of an appointment really helps me. Thanks for the blog.
