5K's and More

Sunday, October 14, 2012

Today I'm feeling REALLY GOOD. I ran 3 miles with a friend who runs much faster than me, but it's her day off and she wanted to run with someone, so we ran together. We talked the whole time!!! I can't believe how fast that time went by. I took some ibuprofen before I left the house and walked down to her house, and afterward I came back and put ice on my foot. Yesterday I had a lot of foot pain, from going up and down the stairs all day with laundry. So I had to take ibuprofen last night too! But I'm only taking it when I run, and I'm taking 2 full days off between each run, so I still feel good about the way things are going. I am actually thinking about doing a couple of 5K's soon! There is a Chili Crusade 5K in a couple weeks here in town, and a couple weeks after it is the Jingle Bell 5K, so I'm feeling good about doing both of those. I hope it's still only $20 to sign up...

My eating is still going well!!! I had pizza and root beer with my family on Friday night, but then yesterday came and I got right back on the wagon and ate well all day, and stayed in my calorie range. I'm really proud of myself!!! I haven't had ANY Halloween candy, and last night my oldest daughter made peppermint-brownie cupcakes, and I didn't have any! There is one left in the fridge, and I just had my bran flakes b-fast so I'm not even hungry. I'm really excited about the way things are going because I haven't been in a good groove in so long.

Yesterday I went clothes shopping and I did pretty well. I'm still in an 18, but I found a lot of really cute stuff in my size. I guess you could say I'm learning to take my own advice about loving yourself, even before you are where you want to be.

I guess that's about all for now. I got Dan up early so he could take advantage of the beautiful weather! It's 65 degrees outside, with a pretty stiff wind from the SSW, but for October in IL, that's pretty unheard-of. He just left for a walk, so hopefully he's doing well too. Spark On. :)
