I want warm!

Friday, October 12, 2012

Now in up-state NY the cool brisk weather is here. I want a warm snack but still want low calorie and low fat.

Most low-calorie foods are cold and raw. Such as salads, celery sticks, fresh fruits or low-fat yogurt and cottage cheese. I enjoy these but right now they are not what I am looking for when I come in from the cold.

I think soups, oatmeal, dare I say coffee (I like mine with cream and sugar) but what else is there? I am talking crunchy, sweet or salty snack that is low cal/low fat and WARM.

I would love suggestions. My kids and I get home from work/school around 3:30. Dinner is usually between 6-7pm. We not only want a snack but need one. Again during the fall and winter months a juicy orange or pear, crunchy celery or carrot stick is not as desirable.

Any suggestions?

Maybe this is a question for the "Messaged board"?

We shall see?!?!

Have a great weekend spark buddies!

I love my popcorn!! Air popped is best but there are basically fat free microwave versions as well:) Another trick is take unsweetened applesauce...heat it up and sprinkle cinnamon on top...yummy emoticon

Me too! I have this problem too. I get home at 10:30 at night and I'd like a little something that's warm and savory without a lot of calories or sodium.

I use sugar free coffee mate creamer. That helps. Maybe some Truvia in your coffee? I drink alot of herbal teas in the fall and winter...ALOT! Chamomile and a Christmas one from Celetial Teas are great! There are so many to choose from. I love to make a chicken roaster and then make my own low sodium chicken veggie filled soup and sip on that when I'm cold. Enjoy!
