Day 242: Did Good!!! ...then bad :/

Sunday, October 07, 2012

Yesterday was the Susan G. Komen Race for a Cure. I've been a few times before but never with the intent to actually RUN it. This time I ran! Not the whole thing. It was crazy crowded. But I ran as much as I could and I did good! We were all sweaty! It was great! Now we're trying to decide on a 5k for next month! Yay! Who's addicted?! Me! lol! I loved the energy of all the people and the adrenaline from running. It was great! I totally want to do it again!
Hoowwever... I ate the whole rest of the day!!! And totally blew it. :( That's 2 days in a row and now I'm back up almost 5 pounds from my low I was at!! Why can I not control myself!!! Sometimes I really wish I could be a smoker again just to curb these urges. But I can't. I worry about my skin too much and I'm too cheap. Have you seen how much cigarettes cost these days?! Holy Cow?! lol!
I gotta figure it out though. I do drink a TON of water. I know one thing is my vitamins. I have been bad again about not taking them like I should, so I could be low in something. I have got to be stronger. I have to just chew on celery or something if I get the urge and know that it's not really hunger. I have to do these chores I need to do instead of eat. I need something! I CAN DO THIS!!! I NEED TO DO THIS!!! I CAN NOT SABOTAGE THIS!!! I WILL DO THIS!!! I WILL MAKE IT!!! I WILL BE OK!! I WILL REACH MY GOALS!!! I CAN DO THIS!!! I WANT IT! I NEED IT! I HAVE TO HAVE IT!! I WILL HAVE IT! I WILL DO THIS!!

I gain and lose the same 5 lbs., all the time. I get so mad at myself, because I'm so close to goal. We can do this. I joined the 5% challenge and hope this will help. Great job on the run, and especially...enjoying the run.

Way to go on the race! I'm hoping that I will experience the addiction after running my first 5K this weekend too! Sorry to hear about the all-day eating. It happens to the best of us.

So glad your race went well!! Cigarettes cost $8.50 a pack in Chicago. My husband smokes and I tell him he would be rich if he stopped.

emoticon on the 5K!!! emoticon Maybe your body needed more food after that? You can do this - maybe gum or hard candy when you are wanting to snack, or find some hobby that keeps your hands and mind busy and off food? I know you'll find what works for you. You've come to far to let food defeat you now!

A 5K, that's awesome! It inspires me to get to that point where I work up more stamina
to run one. I agree with Befearlessnow! The scale can not measure all of the hard work people do. You may have had a slip with eating, but 64.6 pounds lost! That's great, stay motivated, you are doing so well. emoticon emoticon emoticon emoticon emoticon

You got this Sara. You eat healthy and you exercise. The weight on the scale is just a number. You did a 5K and want to do it again!! How flippin awesome is that? I want to do that but my knees won't let me right now. I have to get back in the game and get some weight off, and I will. I think I found my motivation again.. I did find it, and I can feel the difference in my mind. Then I will find a 5K in my area and do it. I know I can walk it, but I want more than that. I don't need to run the whole way either.

Anyway, you are doing great.. as always, an inspiration.. thank you spark friend emoticon

Its not how many times you fall down that matters, its how many times you get back up. Get right back on plan today and all will be well!!
