1. My Huge, Huge, Huuuuuuuge Mistake.

We have all these fancy schmancy high-end workout gear stores all over the place, like Lululemon, Lucy, Athletica, and a bunch of boutique stores. I generally get my workout gear at Target, because spending a lot of money on something you're just going to sweat in seems silly. And I have been perfectly fine with my $19.99 pants for years.

But I went into Athletica while I was waiting on a friend, and found myself trying on a pair of $80 "kick booty" pants. Who spends $80 on workout pants? Seriously!? But they felt soooooooooo goooooooood. They fit perfectly. They were petite, so they weren't dragging on the ground. They were not so high rise that they were up under my boobs, and not so low rise that they were barely covering my ginormous gut. They were tight in the legs and stomach where a little compression is a good thing, but not so much that they look obscene, with a nice boot cut at the bottom. They were soft. They were cozy. They. Were. Perfect.

Thought Process: OK. Know what, screw it, I'll get 'em. And then I'll prove to myself that these are exactly the same as the Target pants and this was a waste of money and I'll never do this again.

SOFALLTIME. I am never taking them off. Must run all the time! They're so soft! They're so comfortable! Must buy 12 more pairs!

2. Back to Smoothies & Soup.

Got the last band on the braces yesterday afternoon, and sure enough now I can't chew anything again. Only (mostly, I should say) on one side, but still. I went to Robek's for my breakfast smoothie and I brought soup and a soft banana for lunch. Siiiigh. On the upside, the orthodontist is pleased with my progress in two weeks, and apparently I'm doing a fabulous job of keeping everything clean. Go me! :)

3. I went for a run this morning and realized it's probably been almost two weeks since I've done that. I missed it. This is a good realization to come to, so maybe now that the love is a little renewed I'll be more consistent about it. And, hey, any excuse to wear my snazzy new pants, right?!

I bought a ridiculously expensive running jacket last year. But the sleeves unzip and IT TURNS INTO A VEST. It is so comfy and flattering and reflective and blah blah blah. I figure if I buy *one* expensive thing and wear it lots, it justifies the price. And I don't underestimate a good workout pant...

I LOVE good workout gear, but like you, I hate paying all that money. However, sometimes, I, too, make the mistake of going into those awesome fitness stores. Haha. Been there, done that. Enjoy them though!

Way to go on the run!

Lol you are hilarious. I feel the same way about those expensive pants, but I kinda feel like you get what you pay for right? Maybe when I can fit into those types of clothes ill treat myself to a pair of fancy pants ;)
