Yesterday was great; I was within all ranges, got some exercise in, and felt pretty good overall. emoticon

Today was more of a challenge. As you can see from my tracker, I ate 5 servings of freggies (2 fruit, 3 veggies). But I was SO HUNGRY when I got home. I ate both of my sandwiches and still wanted more. I even waited 30 minutes to make sure it wasn't my mind playing tricks on me. So I ate a bagel. Best choice? No, probably not. But I knew it would make me feel fuller, and to be honest, I really didn't want another vegetable, lol.

So I ended up over my calories - maybe. I didn't eat all of my lunch (the chicken wasn't really that good), and some of my afternoon carrots were nasty so I had to throw them out. Thus I didn't eat all of the ranch dressing, nor the carrots, nor the lunch plate. I'm not that worried about it though. I went above and beyond my freggie goal, and that makes me happy.

I didn't get to walk today, but I did do some housework in preparation for my in-laws visiting. Scrubbing toilets is fun, yes?

Still I'm a little worried about my hunger. For starters, I am not a fan of protein. I could probably live a vegetarian lifestyle (and I have) because meat just isn't that wonderful to me. Protein fills me up, so I need to research other options for that. Freggies are awesome, but they don't keep me full.

As I write this now, I am still hungry. I'm going to drink some water and go to bed, so I won't have much time to think about it. I'd forgotten how much the first few weeks suck as my stomach gets used to the smaller portions!

Today's victories:
- 5 servings of freggies!
- 2 day streak of avoiding the sweets in the kitchen at work (although that chicken from Panda Express really made me want some sugar ... or maybe it was the high sodium of the meal ... need to investigate!)

Try drinking a glass of water before each meal to fill you up. As far as protein, I use chocolate protein powder in milk with fruit and blend it into a yummy smoothie. Good luck!

You will get it all figured out. One day at a time.

I think one of the harder things for me to recognize was the different kinds of hunger. Sometimes when I have a long work out without eating enough, I will get the serious empty tank, need food now hunger. Other times it can be a hunger pang that I want food now, but if I can distract myself with cold water, a handful of almonds, or a walk around the office, then it can go away.

Also, it took a while to be able to go to bed hungry (not starving) and be comfortable being hungry. It is OK to be hungry, once you are used to it and you don't give into binging! Good luck!
