September to forget.... October goals

Well September came and went. This has been a rough month for me historically for a number of years. For a variety of reasons. I did have a pretty good birthday weekend and I was very proud of the fact that I am healthier at 37 then at 27.

The Monday following my birthday I had a follow up visit from the physical I took a few months ago. He was happy to report that My cholesterol, blood sugar and all my other blood work came back normal. The only health issue I have left is High Blood pressure. I am thinking that may just have still been elevated due to stress and the fact I didn't exercise as usual in September. It is the first month since I have been on spark I didn't register 500 fitness minutes. I am really ashamed of that and why i could make excuses they would be just that excuses. So for October I am getting back to doing what i have been successful at before and that is setting fitness goals I know I can do.

So here are my goals for October

8 glasses of water 6 days a week
100 Push-ups and 100 Squats 5 days a week
6 miles outside each week

So far two days in I have hit the water and ST goals. I will hopefully get half my miles in tonight while my son is at baseball practice. I have been playing in the 260's for too long over 6 months now. It is time to break this plateau and keep moving down. I hope to get in a 5k as well this month. that will help me stay motivated!     Great plan! I'm also glad that you didn't make any excuses but instead took the time to recognize what you need to do to get back on track. You have done so well on this journey and I have all confidence that you will break that plateau.

    emoticon to you for leaving 260ville. Great to hear that your blood work came back normal. As you continue to drop those unwanted pounds and continue to exercise, I'm sure that high blood pressure won't be an issue.

    I'm sorry to hear you've been having a rough time. Just know that we all get off track. Trust me!! It's part of being human. :) All you can do is realize that you're off track and try your darndest to get back on track, which it sounds like you are.
    Get those exercise minutes in and you won't be stuck in the 260s for long. I've platued again... it's time for you to catch up with me!! :)

    Great October goals. So happy your doctors visit went so well. Your eating healthy and exercising will definitely help bring your blood pressure down.( My husband has high blood pressure and that helps keep his in check).     I know how you feel brother, I have seen my fair share of plateaus. You will get past it because you have the tenacity to get it done. September is behind you now, October is full of promise. Do what you know needs to be done and keep working hard. With new goals and your personal grit I wouldn't be surprised if you have a great month!

    Loving the goals... I've been super busy myself lately (haven't even blogged)... I can't wait for things to slow down and get back to exercising more often. I'm only maybe doing 4 nights a week now... it was 5-6.

    Now that you've made your decision, it's time to make it happen. (0: With all you've been through recently, it's certainly understandable that it's been tougher than usual to stick to a regular exercise routine. Good for you for picking yourself up and dusting yourself off. You're recommitted - look out world! Chris means business and there's no stopping him!

    Congrats on the good news from the doctor. I haven't been in over four years. I finally made an appointment for a physical in November. I'm actually looking forward to it!

    Good luck with your goals this month....though you won't need it. I have no doubt you'll make it happen! You've got this!

I'm at 260 now... where I had never been before... Lets bring those numbers down together.... you know we can!

    It's great to see your health issues melting away...hypertension will probably be next to cross off the list. Modern medicine is okay but nothing beats taking care of yourself and getting the proper nutrition and exercise. emoticon

    Great goals. I had to move my expectations back a bit myself. It does no good to set goals you can't reach. That just makes you feel like a failure.

    260's, are a home for me too. I almost made it back there teis summer, and I stuck there almost as long as at 300. Just light enough to feel healthy. At 350, I thought about it all the time, but at 250, you can do more stuff, and sometimes it feels good enough. Since even healthier is an abstract idea, we have less drive to achieve it. I know I will be healthier back at 215. I can quatify that, but 185? Will it be that much better? I am operating on the idea that 185 WILL be healthier, but it is harder to get motivated to do something you are not sure will produce results equal to the work. Meanwhile @ 215 I know I feel good. Being that you are a lot taller, this might be the case for you @ 260.

    Hope you see 250's this month. Just keep moving forward.

    Happy Belated Birthday! Congratulations on the lab progress. I'm sure the your next visit will show better Blood Pressure results. I think all your goals are great. I only wish I can 100 push-up and 100 squats. Don't be to bummed out over not reaching 500 fitness minutes last month. Celebrate all that you where able to do. I haven't been as active as I have been in the pass months, but that all is going to change this month. I need to break this plateau as well. However, I know that I haven't been eating as healthy as I have been prior months, so I know that a big contribute and I take responsibility for that. It's a new month and a new start and I'm participating in a team challenge that will keep me accountable.

    Good for you to blog your goals and plans. I too have been on a plateau for a long time. That's why I joined the biggest loser challenge-Hope both our plans work and we can break through to a new lower weight.
