So much has been going on, and I'm just feeling a bit overwhelmed, but I'm pretty sure that is normal.
I hadn't posted about it, but my 13 year old minivan was getting old. Really old, and things were starting to fall apart. We decided we needed a new car, and started researching and test driving. What happens when a scientist and a computer engineer have to make a big purchase? Spreadsheets and too much information, that is what!
Well, after driving just about every 3rd row vehicle out there. (I'm really not kidding.) We started to gasp at the huge price drops on the 2012's, and thought we'd better get our bums in gear. So... we bought a new Honda Pilot.
I really love it, but now, I realize how very automatic the process of driving a car is when you've done it for 13 years! This new thing is a behemoth, and it is really like learning to drive anew. It is waaaaay nicer than my old "almost driven into the ground" van though, and I know I'll get used to it.
Fitness tie in: I don't think I could have driven this thing a few years ago. For a 5'2" person to get up in this thing takes serious quad strength. Yeah, it is a stretch, but I'm trying to make this sparkpeople appropriate y'all!
Oh! I found this on a friend's facebook page, and it made me giggle - I hope you guys like it as much as I do. Sorry about the A$$ word. Hopefully, I will not offend anyone.
That is all for now. Just wanted to check in with everyone. Fitness-wise, all is well. I've been working out with the fitness therapist, and she has so many cool ways to strengthen me where I have previously injured myself. I'm getting stronger and protecting my weak spots. I'm loving that!
Hugs to all, and sorry about the spacey post. I'm trying very hard to avoid grading, but ohmygosh, I'm out of excuses now. LATER!
