Competition Update - Down But Not Out!

I've been in stealth mode but loving your posts and reading how you all are doing. As for me I've been working my A$$ off in preparation for my big day this month. I was given some very discouraging news a couple of weeks ago. My trainer wanted to have my body fat tested because my goal has not only been to drop the weight but also body fat while building lean mass. I needed to go from 21% based on her assessment to 15% to be ready for competition. After increasing my cardio 2x a day 60 min plus weight training and constant changes to my meal plan - I was exhausted and freaking tired. I officially test at 24% BF and to drop down to 15% in less than 4 weeks would not produce a healthy outcome. We decided that to preserve my sanity I should focus on competing in Spring.
All of my fat is concentrated around my hips and butt. This is not visceral fat this is the stubborn stuff that does not want to let go. So to get things moving I've had to get creative old school style. I run stairs - full out, I sprint (uphill) dragging a tire (yep I said tire) on a rope which is strapped around my waist. I run sideways and backwards on my treadmill the elliptical groans when it sees me coming. Throw in the typical lunges, jump squats, burpees you name it - I'm doing it.
My weight is dropping and I'm around 150. I have not weighed 150 since my early 30's. I've dropped my BF 2%. Good right.....No - Not Really. If I don't keep things in balance I will wind of being "skinny fat". In other words, my weight will drop but the body fat remains high. We don't want that to happen.
. Once I start seeing visible muscle I will be very happy.
This pic is from 3 weeks ago - I'm smaller and tighter now and will get DH help me update my pics. I'm still working my poses but I will have it all down by spring.
Well that's it for now. I'm going to keep on Sparking...How about you?
