I did it! Two pounds lost!

Monday, October 01, 2012

Drum roll please.....I lost two pounds this past week! To be precise, I lost 2.6 pounds! I'm thrilled! That means that now I'm only two pounds over my "starting weight" (grin)!

But in my ever over-analytical way, it's worth looking at a few things I've learned on the way:

At one point in the week I lost four pounds! The thing that changed it was eating the serving of potato chips and the one slice of bread and the bowl of cereal. I was easily within my calories and carbs limit when I ate them, but the pounds on the scale increased by FOUR pounds immediately after eating them! Hmmmnn..

So, I've been at this weight loss thing for far longer than I care to admit and I've always eaten a serving of potato chips and a serving of wheat. And even though I follow the diet to the detail, I've never been able to lose even an ounce. So maybe there's something to leaving them out of my diet (yeah, like that'll be easy - grin!) Something to keep in mind as I go along this weight-loss path.

In all, I'm pleased with the result. I was afraid I'd be too hard on myself - not happy with the result regardless of the number. But a two pound loss is solid. It's enough to keep me going. One day at a time.

I'm on my way...

A two pound weight loss should be enough to motivate you for keeping on track. I think you will find healthier foods as you go along. Your body needs nutrients to provide the fuel you need to keep your body energized and ready to go for exercise. Just losing pounds will help your heart but eating the right kinds of food will make you feel so much better and be good for your heart. emoticon
