Life in the Rose Garden

Monday, October 01, 2012

So... life continues to be busy. I really do miss being on the Sparkpeople site and talking to all my Spark Friends. I hope you ALL KNOW that even if I'm not always replying right away (or at all), I REALLY DO appreciate that you are all still there and interested in my life. I'm going to try to make more of an effort to get on the site daily again, even if only for a bit.

So life is crazy busy, but good. Here are some updates:

WORK: Still loving it, but every week it seems I have more and more responsibility - which I THRIVE on, so def not complaining! I just hope I don't screw something up! I have really shifted my brain to business and it's almost like I reunited with an old friend, since I was in Personnel Management over 20 years ago. I love my Team and I think we're going to rock this Project, so feeling good about the future there.

KIDS: Doing well. My daughter called me on Friday and asked if she could move back in for a bit. I have mixed feelings about it - mostly because of my brother. I have a LOT on my plate right now, and unfortunately my daughter's issues continue to be HUGE. She has Borderline Personality Disorder (and if you're familiar with that, 'nuff said) as well as PTSD and the childhood trauma reactions from her birth family. She's also diagnosed with Bi-Polar Disorder, but not sure I agree with that one. Anyway, she has been self-medicating with street drugs and her affiliations are people like that. So having her in my house with my brother's mass of narcotics is scary. We could lock it all down, but I don't even think I want to go there and be worried about it. On the other hand, I want to be there for her and help her if she sincerely wants the help. She says she is still getting her $800.00 monthly annuity from a lawsuit filed by her former adoptive parents. If that's true (not sure I believe it, because at one time I believe she sold it to one of those annuity settlement organizations) then I think I'll try to find her a roommate situation near me. That way I can be there to help her, but don't have to worry about her bringing people into my house or causing stress to my brother or son. Still thinking about it, though...

DATING: Meh. Same old, same old. Went through 4 more this week - no keepers. But I'm still having fun, so what the hell.

FITNESS: Still rocking this out! Doing a weekly weight class to get in some serious strength training, and doing weights at least one more day a week - I need to get in one more so three days a week is the goal.

NUTRITION: I'm not tracking anymore, but still making great choices. The only downside for me not tracking at this point is that I have to be sure I'm getting in ENOUGH calories. I'm so busy that sometimes I forget to eat! I know - never thought THAT would be a problem!

BAND: We auditioned a new synth player yesterday and I think he's a KEEPER!!! So excited! So I'm hoping we'll be gigging out again in the next few months. I want to be onstage!

Thanks for the updates: All seems well. You are still Sparky!

Funny thing, I took on more projects at work and haven't really had much Spark time either.
