Day 280

Sunday, September 30, 2012

It was another one of those perfect fall days. Cool & crisp in the morning, then warmed up, lots of sun. Leaves are turning nicely, but are not falling yet. No rustle under my feet in the woods...but that's coming soon. Rain is predicted for the next 2 days.

Got in 7.80 miles & 118 min. of cardio walking. Did a strength training session tonight - core; lower body. Stacked up a bunch of split wood too. We usually work for a couple of months in the fall on our wood supply. We're ahead this year and that's a very good feeling. Not like the years when we've had to play catch up. We've been heating with wood since 1978, so this is an annual ritual. DH gave our sweet old Oz (German Shepherd) a bath - it made him feel so much better. He's a stately 11 y/o, dignified, senior citizen. Love him to bits.

Dinner on the grill was sliced sweet potatoes, boneless pork loin chops with a good side of mixed veges. It was really good. I LOVE those sliced sweet potatoes on the grill - they are fabulous, very healthy and low cal.

Thanks for stopping by today if you had time. Hope your Sunday was blessed and wonderful. emoticon

It was the perfect weekend for giving dogs a bath, I guess! LOL I gave Jack a bath this weekend, too.

WE've been working on getting our supply
of wood inside too. We've been using
wood since 1980 but before that,
growing up on the farm, that was
pretty much our only source of heat.
We had grilled chicken and potatoes,
    with roasted beets, cantaloupe from
the garden and broccoli slaw. Pretty
balanced day for both of us. HUGS!
