Hello all! What an interesting week it's been! I officially started my graduate program this week and have been really busy because of it. My emotions have had a bit of a rollercoaster week as well. After seeing how successful and experienced several of my graduate peers are I spent several days beating myself up. I can practically taste it.. the stress levels are rising and with it I know will come complications with my eating! Beyond that, I've been staying fairly positive which is always one of my unwritten goals. I just can't kick this illness though and have finally decided to see a doctor tomorrow.

Last week my goals were:

- Keep up the walking that I've been doing, focusing on walking atleast 20 minutes a day.
- Adding two-three cardio workouts to this next week if my lungs continue to improve.
- Stay within my retrospective protein, fat and carb guidelines as well as maintaining my calorie range steak.

Goal 1: I managed to keep up the walking, making sure I did atleast 20 minutes a day.. on most days I ended up doing MUCH more than that though, especially last Sunday when I walked for about 2 and a half hours.

Goal 2: I was unable to add additionally cardio workouts this week because of my general health, which is incredibly frustrating for me. I did manage to try Yoga however for this weeks challenge. Before I got ill I was doing atleast half an hour a day on the bike and not having something to do each day seemingly brings me down. But! I had said I'd burn 2000 calories this week and I managed to do that just with my walking alone, so I'm not too worried about it.

Goal 3: This I did not to do so well on. I managed to maintain my calorie range for all but one day, but I keep having problems with protein. I had discussed this problem with the lovely Martha but I'm having a hard time staying dedicated to some of the recipes we found! Everything else I managed to stay within and I'm quite proud of that - because I do love my carbs.

Overall, despite the feeling that I was highly unproductive this week... I managed to lose 6lbs. I'm not sure when, where or how! I certainly don't feel it. And there is a general wariness with my scale now.. but other people say they can see it! It might just be water weight, but it feels good to see numbers that high in the third week.

I think based on the respective success/failure of my goals last week, I'll once again build upon my goals.

So therefore!

1 - Boost walking to atleast 30 minutes a day, taking the long way when possible. Also, to go along with this, make sure I'm never rushing on my way to school so I can take the long way and enjoy my walks!
2 - Definitely add 2-3 cardio workouts for this week and make sure I continue my strength training regimen.
3 - Stay within my respective ranges. In addition to this, make sure that if I'm going to drink I have no more than 2 drinks. The day I went over my calories was a result of a little too much beer.. and it's not nearly satisfying enough to justify!
4 - Get 8 hours of sleep every night and get to class prepared and ready!
