Day 278

Friday, September 28, 2012

I liked this quote:

‎"You can motivate by fear, and you can motivate by reward. But both those methods are only temporary. The only lasting thing is self-motivation." – Homer Rice, football coach

It's true. When one gets to the point where they are motivated from within it works like magic. Something clicks. It's no longer a chore or even a discipline to be dedicated to achieving or maintaining a healthy lifestyle - it becomes something to be viewed with anticipation that one looks forward to. The reward is the joy & elation that is felt when the workout is over. A job well done. Satisfaction just for doing it. It really is a sweet thing.

Got in over 8 miles today and a good strength training session this evening - core; lower body. Also cleaned the house and drove 2 bus routes. Dinner was boneless pork loin roast on the grill with broccoli on the side. It was really good. DH had potato, but I didn't want any. Filled up on broccoli!!

Had an opportunity to tell a lady at school about SP today. She wanted to know HOW I lost the weight!! "Well my dear, I certainly have the answer for you!!" So now she knows. Hope she'll be motivated to log in!!

Thanks for stopping by today if you had time. Hope your Friday was fabulous and that you got out in this gorgeous fall weather and put away a few miles of a good walk!! emoticon
