I made these comments on a blog and decided to put them here also. For those of us that are no longer "young", it is never too late to improve your health.

A bit of motivation you may find helpful.

Yes you are overweight and you are healthy--you are also young. The health dangers of being overweight increase as you age and as you spend years being overweight. I am now 65 and I was always heavy and I had a lot of reasons for this. But when I reached middle age and I was getting heavier each year, I started to notice the people who were getting older and were heavy--suddenly they were not getting around well and diabetes was a new challenge for many along with breathing problems and heart disease. I did not want to be older and so unnecessarily physically challenged.

I am now 147 with my high being 225 and I am only 5 ft 3 inches in height. I am working on taking off another 7-10 pounds. It is challenging but it is worth it. I have people I love who love me and how can I truly be there for them if I am sick and need help myself.

Loving yourself as you are is something you should do. You are worth loving. But loving yourself while you are overweight will not give you the best chance of a healthy life all your life long.
