That strictness I was talking about...

A while back, I blogged about how I wanted to try being a little bit more strict with myself. More rules, goals, and things to follow. I do well with rules, and I think that's what my plan was lacking. Well, of course, I never got around to really setting some more strict guidelines. After all, who would want to? emoticon But I know it's something I need to do, so here's my plan. I have today after work all laid out, since that seems to be my hardest time.

emoticon Trying to balance chores, pets, relaxing, and working out...just never seems to all fit in. Working out gets left out the most, and that really bothers me.

So here is my plan for today, after work:

5:00-5:15
Let dogs out emoticon
Fresh water/food for birds emoticon
Fresh water for dogs
Change into workout gear
5:15-5:45
30 minutes of My Fitness Coach on Wii, focusing on arms. WITH weights. emoticon
5:45 - 6:15 or so
Dishes, with news in the background to catch up
Defrost porkchops
6:15ish
Start dinner. I need to decide between burritos, chicken strips, or stuffed pasta shells. All with a salad to start. (My salads never match my dinner. For example, I may have a blue cheese salad with burritos. Weird? Yes. But it works for me. Anyone else do that?)

After dinner, I can enjoy either a skinny cow ice cream sandwich or a weight watchers frozen candy bar ice cream. Whatever hubby or I thinks sounds good. If I get the munchies, I can enjoy a cup of that wonderful loose leaf tea hubby was kind enough to buy me to help me with this journey.
Still need something? A handful of grapes. But NO bringing the bag to the couch - set a handful on a plate and eat those. Remember a few extra for the dog that loves fruit. emoticon Or, baby carrots are a good after-dinner snack for me too. Again, set some on a plate with a couple extra for the dog that love carrots. (My dog is totally weird. L loves grapes, neeners, carrots, corn, and other freggies. I don't normally feed my dogs human food like that, FYI, but he has a habit of stealing it off my plate. So we've come to an agreement that with freggies he likes, I'll save him some if he promises not to eat off my plate anymore, lol!!)

I still need to come up with some goals and things to follow, like water consumption, veggie consumption while cutting back on fruits, and whatnot. That will be what I debate for the rest of the day, and hope to have some sort of guidelines to set up tomorrow.

    I like your plan! I need to be better about planning, like defrosting things for the next day. But my salads never match my meal, so I'm with you on that one! My routine is somewhat similar to yours, get home, play with kitty, workout, shower, but usually I've been bad about planning and start thinking "whats for dinner?" while in the shower. So usually I start making a salad right away to get some food in me so I'm not ravenous and say screw dinner, I'm eating everything in sight!

    Are you using the trackers on here for water and veggies? I love them and might help you with your goals. I try to make sure 3 out of my 5 veggie/fruit tallies are from veggies.

    Yay! What a great looking plan! You CAN do it!
    I have a morning routine written down, an afternoon routine for the kids and I, an evening routine for the kids, and an evening routine for me...all written down. We also all have a daily chore. Mine are a little more time consuming than the kids' but I really can get a lot done 15 min at a time. I don't know if flylady.com would work for you, but I've tweaked her routines to fit my home and schedule and it works for me. There are days I let things slide too...or just don't feel well enough to do everything on the routines, but because so many things have become routines now, I just don't worry about it because it won't take long to 'catch up' if I miss a few days.
    Don't forget to reward yourself (something healthy) when you do complete your routine!
