A while back, I blogged about how I wanted to try being a little bit more strict with myself. More rules, goals, and things to follow. I do well with rules, and I think that's what my plan was lacking. Well, of course, I never got around to really setting some more strict guidelines. After all, who would want to?
But I know it's something I need to do, so here's my plan. I have today after work all laid out, since that seems to be my hardest time.
Trying to balance chores, pets, relaxing, and working out...just never seems to all fit in. Working out gets left out the most, and that really bothers me.
So here is my plan for today, after work:
Let dogs out
Fresh water/food for birds
Fresh water for dogs
Change into workout gear
30 minutes of My Fitness Coach on Wii, focusing on arms. WITH weights.
5:45 - 6:15 or so
Dishes, with news in the background to catch up
Start dinner. I need to decide between burritos, chicken strips, or stuffed pasta shells. All with a salad to start. (My salads never match my dinner. For example, I may have a blue cheese salad with burritos. Weird? Yes. But it works for me. Anyone else do that?)
After dinner, I can enjoy either a skinny cow ice cream sandwich or a weight watchers frozen candy bar ice cream. Whatever hubby or I thinks sounds good. If I get the munchies, I can enjoy a cup of that wonderful loose leaf tea hubby was kind enough to buy me to help me with this journey.
Still need something? A handful of grapes. But NO bringing the bag to the couch - set a handful on a plate and eat those. Remember a few extra for the dog that loves fruit.
Or, baby carrots are a good after-dinner snack for me too. Again, set some on a plate with a couple extra for the dog that love carrots. (My dog is totally weird. L loves grapes, neeners, carrots, corn, and other freggies. I don't normally feed my dogs human food like that, FYI, but he has a habit of stealing it off my plate. So we've come to an agreement that with freggies he likes, I'll save him some if he promises not to eat off my plate anymore, lol!!)
I still need to come up with some goals and things to follow, like water consumption, veggie consumption while cutting back on fruits, and whatnot. That will be what I debate for the rest of the day, and hope to have some sort of guidelines to set up tomorrow.
