Day 7 of Dog Walking & Day 6 of No Diet Dr. Pepper
Sunday, September 23, 2012
First of all, I want to thank everyone for their continued support and encouragement. It has really helped me this week, especially with giving up Diet Dr. Pepper after over 30+ years of drinking it. I really appreciate all of you.
We went for two walks today with the dogs. We took one this morning before my son had to go to work. It was our usual route with the dogs. They were so happy. Then we took a second walk after supper. This time we walked around the block. They loved it. The dogs in the neighborhood kept barking at us along the way. Here's a picture of my dogs as we paused under a street light:
I have to share this one too. They were laying on the floor next to me while I was working; waiting for me to take a break and go for a walk.
I'm still holding strong on not drinking the Diet Dr. Pepper. I've only had a couple of times where I thought I wish I could have one. It really hasn't been bad though. I've been drinking plain water, cherry/limeade flavored water from Walmart call Clear American, and V8 V-Fusion. The Concord Grape/Raspberry is Light V-Fusion, which I love and will buy again. I just realized that the Pomegranate/Blueberry isn't the light version. I will be watering that one down. I don't care for sugary drinks; that's why I always drank Diet Dr. Pepper. I thought of trying green tea. Walmart had a 6 pack of the new Lipton Citrus Diet Green Tea, but I've never had green tea before and I didn't want to buy a whole 6 pack. I looked to see if they had any single versions and I couldn't find any. I'll have to look at one of the convenience stores to see if they have one.
