back to the grind

The wedding's over and I can finally get back to "regular life", which means back to healthy eating and exercising. So, I faced the scale today. I'm up 5 pounds from two weeks ago [but I'm convinced that that week's weigh in was a fluke anyway]. Honesty? Not bad. My goal was to stay under 180 and I didn't accomplish that... but just by fractions of a pound. I will take it. And I know that some of that weight isn't "real" weight gain [I did not eat that many calories!] and my body just needs to even out. So I'm hoping to be back to 177ish by next Sunday. Which means that I will have essentially maintained for the month of September, and I'm not upset about this at all. I want to be down to 170 by the end of October but we'll see where the number falls next week to give me a starting point.
Aside from being busy with wedding stuff, my exercise really fell by the wayside this week... but it wasn't my fault! I hurt my knee while out running on Sunday [just a minor thing, but it acted up for a few days] so I had to put everything on hold for the first half of the week. And then Wednesday was last minute preparations and rehearsal, Thursday I actually had to take my aunt to the doctor's along with getting my nails done, etc. and then Friday was the wedding. Yesterday I was so exhausted that I spent most of the day sleeping and the rest of the day too tired to move, so I just played Zelda. :) Anyway, I'm certain that the lack of exercise also contributed to my temporary weight gain but now my knee's feeling better and life has calmed down. So, time to start running again!
Yesterday I also spent getting back on track, spark-wise. I logged my food for the first time in days [maybe all week?], read some articles, and just collected sparkpoints for various things to get myself back in the habit. And I can confidently say that I am ready to kick this week's ass! LET'S GO!
