I'm Grateful for Today: Spending Family Time at the Beach

Saturday, September 22, 2012

Hubby, kids and I spent the day at the beach today - swimming in the ocean and playing in the sand. The water temperature was perfect and there was a nice breeze. We realized while swimming that today is the first day of Fall! It was just one of those amazing days at the beach where you don't want it to end. An added bonus - I took my walk on the beach today too as the sun was beginning to set. I enjoyed the beautiful, natural scenery. I questioned why I haven’t gotten to the beach more often recently. I made a plan to aim for spending one day at week at the beach, where I can also get my walk in too. I was thinking how it is such an inexpensive family fun day (we brought lunch with us). I was also reflecting….why is it so easy in these surroundings….spending a wonderful day at the beach with my loved ones…it seems all my cares go by the wayside and nothing else really matters? Talk about experiencing a natural high and a lighter sense of being. I am grateful for today.

I couldn't agree more - I find the beach the most relaxing place! I love spending time there. It seems all of my worries just slip away; it really helps me put life in perspective.
