A tiny 'whiff' of cooler air in FL...keep it comin'...please!

emoticon One of the few disappointments...weather wise of living in sunny sub-tropical FL is that you miss the seasons. I REALLY miss fall when the leaves put on their dazzling display of reds, oranges, and yellow finery. We used to hurry up to our little cabin in the mountains and spend a week or two poking around attending apple festivals and hiking in the Appalachian Mountains. By the way one of my ALL time fav books about this is "A Walk in the Woods" by the wonderful Bill Bryson about his funny and true trek through the Appalachians. It's worth a read if you like hiking and you like funny! emoticon emoticon

I loved it when Josh, his dad, and I would bail out of bed bright and early pick a hike from our trail maps with plenty of waterfalls and zoom off for a new family adventure. Just LOVED it!

There is NOTHING like being in the woods to assure you that all is right with the world and your little family.

The smells, the solitude, the amazing wild life and of course just the pure joy of family love and camaraderie. Those memories are absolutely priceless to me and I'd encourage you to take the fam and GET out THERE! The kids will remember these simple pleasures forever!

Soooo when fall finally rolls around in FL it triggers those happier simpler times and just makes me smile! emoticon Of course it also reinforces how things were then financially and how things are NOW...that doesn't make me smile so much! When you have proper savings and proper income the world is a MUCH happier place...but the hubs and I just keep on truckin' happy that we still have each other and put our hopes and energies on the pleasures that we still enjoy. It's all okay...just a different type of okay..right?

I'm in a quandry over this modification packet to get back to our lawyers to submit to GMAC for one final hopeful look that they might work with us in adjusting our payment to a level that we can afford. When you are self employed you have to submit P&L statements.

It's really just the fickle finger of fate that decides if we can stay or if we have to go. Remember I've been through these modification packets FOUR times before....sadly to no avail. One time we were denied because we didn't show enough income, one time we were denied because we showed too MUCH income..and one time our payment WAS modified...but to a monthly payment that was actually HIGHER than the original one that we couldn't pay when the housing market crashed in the FIRST place! emoticon And...here's the kicker..they were all with the same income and expenses submitted!

Like I say...the fickle finger of fate! emoticon

All I can hope for is a blooming miracle emoticon they still DO occur now don't they?

If GMAC won't go along with the permanent modification it looks like the fat lady is certainly warming up to sing. The judges here in Lee County are so lender friendly it doesn't matter how BLATANT the fraud is against the homeowners and how COMPELLING the evidence is that is laid in their lap. The homeowner gets the boot!

If you can even believe this...the monies that were given to FL by the government in the mortgage settlement have not made their way to the homeowners...they have been used to rehire retired judges and reinstall the infamous 'rocket docket' that boots homeowners out on the street in 3 minutes or LESS. It's a travesty..but this is the great state of FL and the stinky governor that we have in place just wants this foreclosure debacle DONE!

Let's hope he never is in jeopardy of losing HIS house some day. emoticon

But...I'm resigned to whatever happens. I'll make the best of it as we always have, I won't LIKE having to move in fact it will tear my heart out to leave this place that we put our heart, soul and love in...but I won't let it destroy me. emoticon I can't...I still have too much work left to accomplish in this lifetime! emoticon

But you can bet your bippy that I will take every avenue I possibly can to sue for a retrial and I will turn in these creepsters to the newly formed Consumer Protection Bureau that the congress is waiting with baited breathe to dismantle because they whine that it's too powerful against their wall street buddies! I just hope the timing works out and things move along in a fashion that benefits us.

Bogus documents, robo-signers, foreclosure mill lawyers, recording agencies that are only a 'front' all smack at the mafia tactics that used to be viewed as criminal.

Dress them up in a $2,000 bankers suit, add a $500 silk tie and they are considered proper business professionals...I say pull the fancy wrappings off and see them for what they are people...they are stinking robbing RATS.

That's my story and I'm stickin' to it! emoticon emoticon emoticon

Glad to hear about the bit cooler. While I love fall, it's a bit depressing as winter is right on it's tail a little too quickly. I'd like to see fall for a month or two (when I'm lucky now to get two weeks). The Lake Superior Northland just peaked this weekend and the state parks are incredible. Will drive through the Pike Lake Chain and dine at the Delta Diner tomorrow so I can further enjoy the colors and visit the cottage of my youth that my family sold about 20 years ago. Keep your focus on Christmas in New York . . . and all those beautiful displays in the windows! What fun you have on the horizon.

Bobbi you certainly have a full "plate" with your lenders! They are rats too, you hit it on the head! Yeah where is that bail out money? It's to bail you out of your house, not make it easier on you!

Love the pic and the story of your family at the cabin. Happier times.

The book you mentioned I will check into. I read his Book about walking across England! OMG it was so funny! He lives up here in New Hampshire about 30 minutes from my house. Lol Love his stuff!

You are in my prayers as are the others out there going through the same thing! Best of luck to ya hon!

I pray that everything works out for you.
It was chilly here in Wisconsin. But I refused to succumb. I wore my cotton pants, short sleeve tee, and sandals. Okay, I must confess, I was cold.

You are so amazing, Bobbi. I don't know how you do it. I am praying that GMAC works an amazing payment out for you all this year.

You just never know - do you?

I loved the photo of you and Josh Man at the cabin. What great memories!!

Take care and keep the faith.

I really hope they get the entire thing fixed for you-what a horrible way to live. I may have to check out that book. We did have some cooler weather today-I had on shorts and a t-shirt and standing outside waiting for my granddaughter I actually got chilled as the rain started coming down. emoticon

Actually, let's hope he IS in that jeopardy. I'd like to see the greedy so-and-so's get hoist with their own petard. Whatever a petard is.

Went straight to the library site and checked out Bill Bryson's book to read right after the two I already had checked out. Halfway through one of them, I should get to this one by the weekend. You KNOW I like hiking, and funny!

We are having absolutely gorgeous fall weather. Come out and hike with me whenever you can!

Here's one for ya! All you have to do is ride up to the Panhandle. Last year we went on a road trip and the entire time we were on I10, I thought we were back close to Skyline Drive. That's on Shenandoah National Park in the Blue Ridge Mountains of Virginia. (we lived in the DC Metro Area before moving down to The Sunshine State!) The colors were awesome!

Love that picture of you two in the woods! I have a "Hike in the Appalachians" on my bucket list... something I definitely want to do someday.

We never stop missing our little angels. Heart hurts when I read some of your stuff. Yes, it's been very hot in Sandy Eggo for several
weeks now. Most of my energy is drained.
Looking forward to it cooling off.

It's definitely true that under the packaging these "business professionals" are really just greedy, slimy rats.

You are a survivor, but you intend to thrive a long the way. I know you will make the best of any situation and count your lucky stars. We only have one time on this earth, and it's best to try and be happy with our blessings. This is called true grit, and you have plenty of it.
