Assignment #1 - Fall 5% Challenge

Wednesday, September 19, 2012

I recently joined the Fall 2012 5% Challenge and will Run a 5K with SparkPeople's Virtual Turkey Trot Race.

Your Fall 2012 Exercise Plan: My plan for the Fall 2012 5% challenge will be to lose between 7 and 8 lbs in 8 weeks. My next step will be to run a 5k by Thanksgiving for the Virtual SparkPeople Race. While training for the race I will try to get 60 mins of excersie in a day. With working full-time, going to school, and two small children it is a challenge, but isn't that the point? :o)

Your Fall 2012 Diet: I do not believe in diets. I don't feel they really work. I like to think of a truly successful weight loss journey as a life changing process = lifestyle change. I will continue my current plan and work on making it more consistent (my weekends is where I get into trouble). I will continue to spend an hour each Sunday portioning my breakfast, snack, and lunch for at work M-F. I will continue to try new recipes from SparkPeople and from other healthy cooking websites I have been finding. I will continue to drink 12 to 15 glasses of water a day. And I will continue to eat 5+ fruits and veggies a day. My biggest struggle will be Friday - Sunday. I will not gain 2 to 5 lbs every weekend!!!!

I will Commit myself to connecting with my team and taking on the Challenge in a way that will make me proud of my contribution, which is doing MY best regardless of where I am starting out from. I will interact with my team mates on the Discussion Board and ask for support when I feel my resolve wavering. I will visit team members’ pages, read and comment on team members’ blogs, write blogs or do vlogs. To have a friend be a friend, and let your team mates know I care about how they are doing.

I will give myself the gift of a slimmer healthier body. Make This June the Best Ever!
