A Goal Blog
Tuesday, September 18, 2012
This is really just a blog for me to get out all of the goals that have been swirling around in my head and commit to them, so here goes. I am going to a dubstep show for Halloween and the last time we went to a show, all of these tiny, little girls were wearing off shoulder, 80's throwback shirts with tight jeans or flirty skirts. It got me thinking. No, I don't want to dress in 80's clothes for Halloween, but I do want to work towards wearing whatever the heck I want and looking damn good in it.
So here's my first goal - Get back in Size 8 pants by October 31st. I'm intentionally not focusing on pounds...I know how tricky scale head games can get when I'm trying to lose weight. Last week was a total testament of that - I lost 3 lbs my first week back on Spark and then I didn't check in and ate HORRIBLY last week.
I'm going to focus on the basics - the stuff that I know has worked for me in the past...

Limiting my drinking (which really is not a problem for me since I am married to someone who is sober and I rarely drink anymore)

Checking into Spark minimum 5 times a week, even if it's just checking in on The Final Countdown team page

Staying off the scale

Making healthy portion and food choices

Working out 5 times a week (already got 3 in for this week and it's only Tuesday)

Getting a good night's sleep

Not letting my emotions control my food choices

Trying on my Size 8 "goal" pants once a week to FEEL the progress I'm making - a tight fit does not constitute a pity party. I need to use it as motivation.
So there it is. My first goal blog in quite some time with all feasible, mindful goals that don't focus on goal "weight" per se.
