My Mind is Ready, but My Body is Dragging

Tuesday, September 18, 2012

Went to the doctor today and it's not a sprained elbow or pinched nerve; it's a sprained tendon in my elbow. And naturally, it starts feeling much better the second I walk into the doctor's office. emoticon

Took the day off so I could stay off the (work) computer emoticon and just rest. The Rx the Doc gave me is a non-steroid anti-inflammatory and seems to be helping, along with the ice packs.

Right now, the pain isn't so much in my elbow anymore (expect when I accidently tweak it somehow), it's traveled up & down my arm to my shoulders, wrist and hands, but even that pain is receeding. emoticon

Did about 20 minutes of stretching 2 x's today and will do some more streches before bed time. Ate pretty well but I could have done better. Yogurt for breakfast, but had grilled cheese sandwiches for lunch. Had about two cups of grapes for a snack and dinner was a pork chop, asparagus and tater tots.

Wanted to walk today, but it was absolutely storming here all day today. Feeling okay. A little frustrated since in my mind, I'm ready and want to get going, but my body is just not up to it right now. Will try to get in steps tomorrow.

I hear you! Most days my mind and body do not see eye to eye. What usually helps me is a 5 minute pep talk early morning and doing some kind of activity in the morning. This puts my body on the road of wanting to exercise.

Just never give up on you. emoticon emoticon
