I am so frustrated...with my scale. We may have to break up.

I have been tracking meticulously. Working out like a boss. Tracking and racking up fitness minutes like a champ...drinking water like it's going out of style. And man, that scale just WILL NOT move no matter what I do.

Now, I know I am making SOME progess. I have seen some pictures from this weekend, and I have been doing SP for about 3 weeks. I can tell I am slimming down. I feel better. My energy is through the roof. I'm getting fit. I LOVE IT. But if that scale doesn't start letting me see some numerical progress soon I may have to throw it out the window...or run it over with my car.

My first week on SP I GAINED. It was so crappy. And then I lost a bit the next week...and from then on it has been maintain, maintain. Workout, eat good, and still no movement. I think I lost 3 oz. once. I was excited to lose, but COME ON!

I think I'm so frustrated because the first time I lost the bulk of my weight it came off so easily. I change my eating a bit, upped my exercise to like, 3 days a week and it MELTED off. Now, I'm working out like 5-6 days a week and meticulously tracking my food and I can't get more than 3 oz off. It's borderline driving me nuts.

I could use some advice, support, a kick in the rear, whatever. :)

When the scale is creating this type of barrier, step away and move to the tape measure. If that is causing you problems, move away and focus on daily tracking of your energy level. Then return back as your psyche allows. It’s only been 3 weeks and you will have natural fluctuations as your body works to develop muscle and burn fat. You shared you feel better and have more energy, that speaks volumes. Stay on track and it will sort out in time. Remember, it’s not how fast you move through this, it’s the staying power that is the most important.

I agree with Julee - you may be replacing fat with muscle, which is great. Also be sure you are actually eating enough, or your body may be going into starvation mode, slowing your metabolism and clinging on to every calorie. You may see results if you up it a little. At the end of the day everyone's body is different, so there is some trial and error involved to see what exactly your body will respond to. But don't give up - you are on the right track and I'm sure you will break through the plateau. emoticon emoticon

Hi there! Maybe your body is busy making muscle and burning fat - the fact that you're looking better in photos is a confirmation that something positive is happening, right?

    Hang in there and emoticon
