Prayer request

I am sorry that it's been nearly a month since my last blog, wow hard to believe that much time has passed. I last told you how we were getting ready for my oldest Stepson's wedding and it was very exciting. Everything went well I am happy to report. But through it all my hubby's health has been steadily going down hill. He is in end stage kidney failure and currently we are at the mercy of his doctor's trying to get dialysis set up. Having had to travel two hours one way just to get to his doctor is bad enough but going through the red tape of trying to get medical referrals though the Indian Health Service is ridiculous.

To make a long story short Nate, my husband is waiting for a kidney transplant but has to have dialysis in the meantime and was supposed to start over a month ago but because of the bureaucracy he is still waiting and to the point where any day now he may be hospitalized because of the toxins building up in his system. Next month is our 10th anniversary and I am doing all I can to help keep him going. It's been so hard seeing him like this and feeling so helpless. We call every other day trying to get people that are supposed to fax information to his primary health care but they promise to send the information then only to find out it doesn't get done and if you get angry on the phone you are labeled as hostile... it's enough to make one scream with aggravation.

So all I can do is ask for your prayers and try to keep the faith some how some way through all of this. That's it for now... I'll try to keep you updated as best as I can. Thank you for taking the time to read this and thank you in advance for your prayers too.

Thank you all for your support and prayers. Things are about the same just waiting on for hubby's surgery date for the port to start dialysis. His anemia is getting worse but we are watching him real close. Last Christmas he was in the hospital because he was so bad they had to do two transfusions. Hoping that will not be the case this year. Me, I'm just trying to stay positive and keep everyone's spirits up.

Jules..Payers and hugs. We just recently went through something similar with my brother. He's not on a transplant list but is on dialysis. We didn't even know he had kidney failure (he's diabetic) but they believe an IV medication he takes for arthritis caused it. He went in the hospital one day and they immediately put him on dialysis...he goes 3 times a week for the rest of his life. It's very difficult! I'll keep you in my prayers.

Oh how awful that it's taking that long to get what needs to be done done! I'm sorry that's going on. I'm sorry your hubby is having such a need too. I know of a young girl who had to have a kidney transplant. It was due to deep scarring they said. They had no idea she'd had kidney problems ever. She got her transplant 15 or more years ago now. She'd doing really well. She learned how to eat just right right away- there is a lot to keep track of, but her mom trained her well.
Praying for your hubby, and you, and all that goes with all this.
