Rosh Hashanah and BLC 20
Monday, September 17, 2012
Now you may be asking yourself how these two things inter relate, let me tell you...... Rosh Hashanah is a time for reflection. So the sermon last night given by our Rabbi was about how many of us use "If only" for many things. So for the blc this is "if only I followed the meal plan I set, I would lose weight." or "if only my husband didn't bring that bad food into our house, I wouldn't be tempted." Instead, he suggests we use, "what if" statements. So I am going to try to use "what if" statements instead of "if only" statements. I need to stop blaming others for my failures.
What if I drink more water daily?
What if I exercise daily?
What if I plan menus so I know what to eat?
These are the ideas I plan on working on.
On a personal level, I plan on working on keeping up on grading for school. Yelling less at the kids. And making sure the kids keep doing their homework. Helping Jacob improve his grades since right now he has 3 fails.
I also will try to be more positive and be grateful for what I have.
Today, I am grateful that my kids enjoy going to services and don't fight about going.
