Post-op L5 - S1

I had to change my weight measurement. Unfortunately it went up 2.5 lbs.
Two months ago, I needed to have a micro-discectomy on my L5-S1 to relieve pain I have had for over a year. The pain went from my left lower back, through the butt, down my calf to my left foot. The operation was a success. At least it was for several weeks.
The pain came back on the right side. After a week of prednisone, I thought the pain was gone for good. Within a few days it came back again.
With a Doctor's appt. scheduled tomorrow, I will hopefully find out the best way to proceed.
Because of this pain, which is comparable to a bad tooth ache ( but meds don't do a thing to it), I can't do my walking as I did in the past. Now, I'm lucky to be able to stand for ten minutes before the pain gets unbearable.
If anyone has experienced this, let me know how you made out.
