SparkTUCSON Rally 2012

Monday, September 17, 2012

What an awesome day.

We had a much smaller group show up than the RSVPs reflected. I guess folks were scared of a little rain.. :) LOL In all fairness, I DO get it, being a desert rat myself... water evokes a strong reaction - some go dance in the rain, others hide from it. So if you were out dancing in the rain and completely FORGOT (LOL), it's OK. We had a good time and YOU MISSED IT! emoticon

First, I apologize for the lack of photos... Have become so accustomed to my son hauling the camera around (or grabbing a cell phone) and taking photos of everything that I've just gotten out of the habit... Remembered to take pics somewhere in the middle of this and only got a few...

Maggeriffic graciously and enthusiastically led a warmup (workout) and then she led the walk. We walked around Reid Park, well, MOST of Reid Park and clocked 2 miles. I wore flip flops (duh! FORGOT to grab decent shoes & that cost me a nickel-sized blister), but had a good time walking with everyone, especially my walking partner for the day, FITNESSBULLY.

We ate REALLY WELL! JEWELMAKER1 brought a quinoa salad that was AWESOME! recipes.sparkpeople.com/

PAYJAW brought a fruit salad that was super delicious!

We had an assortment of yummies - corn chips, kale chips, a veggie tray, dips. It was a very nice day.

Maggeriffic, PAYJAW and RETIREDAT60.

THANK YOU for making the SPARKTucson RALLY !!!

That's nice that you get together like that. I haven't seen one happen in Jacksonville, FL yet, so maybe we need to make that a goal in November or something. Hmmm... will have to discuss with the team!

But good for you guys for getting out there and getting it done!
