BLC 20 Plan For Success

Sunday, September 16, 2012

Fitness---really work on walking at least 6 days a week. Start riding bicycle. Do some strength exercise daily if possible. (I need this to stay flexible and not hurt). Start day with stretching...then proceed from there.

Nutrition---for me, it's not what I eat...it's how much. So, will make a point to portion out what I eat. Drink at least 8 waters daily, veggies are no problem, will increase fruits daily. Don't eat a lot of fast food--so not an issue. Cook most of our meals. Ohhh. will try to limit and eventually cut out drinking soda (That's a biggie for me)

Rewards--hmmm. never done much of that. Since I love to read...will buy a book or something.

I'm sure I'll think of something else or more later.

I have problems with rewards too. I feel like I have everything I want in life that I can buy or borrow. I'm finding taking the time to DO something *I want* to do rather than "I should" do gives me the feeling of reward. I've used food treats for sooooo long that its a real learning process to do something for me rather than feed myself. What are you finding rewarding?

Great plan and I believe you will accomplish them. I cut out all soda's a year ago and now I don't want them. Water is my main drink after my morning coffee. emoticon

Cutting out soda is a BIGGIE. You can do it! Try flavored seltzer water or flavor your own water. It's been over 1 1/2 years since I've given up soda. It can be done. As for "portion distortion," that's another biggie. Weigh and measure for awhile until your eyes don't deceive you. Best to you on your SparkJourney. ~~ Barbara

Giving up soda (Dr. Pepper for me) was difficult, but I am no longer a slave to it and I'm so glad! emoticon

Good luck with your plan. I love real books too, so much more character to a book.

Even though I love reading real books, I do love my nook. I find a ton of good books for free on the Barnes & Noble website. I also check out the new authors there for free or low cost downloads. that might be a neat treat, an ereader, and then pick out new titles for treats down the road.
