It's alright now

Thursday, September 13, 2012

Well, I'm feeling pretty good about today! I'm going to be over my calorie range due to excessive snacking, and I haven't had dinner yet...oh, well. My weight is going down, I'm burning enough calories. Life is good! I've finally gotten down below 250# again, and I intend to stay below 250#!!! I'm still trying not to be disappointed in myself about how I haven't lost the 70# I planned to at the beginning of the year by now. I'll feel super if I can reach 241# by the end of the month. Anyway, I'm really happy with my results so far and think a reward is in order. Some sort of Spark Goodie, I think! Extra awesome part of today was 25 log-in points! I even broke a good sweat speed-cleaning at my parents' house today, so I call today the best day of this month so far! I feel extra motivated by the results and compelled to continue consistently. emoticon emoticon emoticon

Also, thanks so very much to all my Spark Friends who have been so active on my Feed! You make me feel like a super star!

Remember that just because your brain sets a goal it doesn't mean your body can achieve it. If you hope to lose 1 lb/week on average over months, that's a more plausible goal. Though focusing on other changes - how you feel, how your body is reshaping, that your clothes fit better - are so much better ways to measure progress.

Think about this: a few months ago would you have been able to do the speed-cleaning you did today?

You said you've been going over your calories due to excessive snacking - what can you do to change that? Can you eat more filling meals or healthier snacks? Is there a reason besides hunger for eating the snacks (like emotional eating)? Can you drink more water before eating a snack to ensure it's hunger not thirst? Everyone has challenges to overcome when making changes. But it stars with identifying what bad habits we have.

Still, it's great that you were cleaning. I agree with giving yourself a goodie! You deserve it. Keep up the good work and healthy changes.
