Run Through the Roses 5K - 2012

Monday, September 10, 2012

So this weekend was my fourth 5K since I started learning to run in February 2011. Not much to say about it. I didnt train for it nearly enough. I went out to train twice to be exact. That's horrible, I know. But I didnt want to NOT do this race and I had so many people supporting me that day. I had invited a few people to register for the race a couple of months ago, but only 2 of them said they would. As it turns out 4 of the people I invited signed up, then 2 of my ZumbaSisters were there as well as 2 co-workers, and my husband, my sisters, and two friends were there cheering me on. I had quite a section =) I really wish I would have train harder to make them all prouder of me. To make MYSELF proud of me. But I wont fail unless I give up and I'll be damned if I give up. Next 5K coming up November 3rd. I'm definitely training hard for this one.

Here are a few pics of Saturday's race and my fellow runners:

My friends and I before the race (I know, I know, we should have been warming up instead of posing for the camera LOL)

Me oh-so-close to the finish line

My ZumbaSisters and I after the race. These girls are true runners. The one on the right actually did the 10K and medaled in her category.

After the race, my friends and I posing for the "after" pic.

I just realized that I've worn the same green t-shirt for every single 5K I've done except for the ColorMeRad. LOL!
