Had a nice run & a food victory.

I was up early yesterday and went out for my long run. I am only on week #2 of the Hal Higdon half marathon training so the long run is only 4 miles currently. I ran more than I had in past without stopping to walk, that is a great feeling. I also ran the 4 miles 6 minutes faster than last week, yeaa!!! I do love improvement!!! I am not a speed runner by any means. I have learned a great lesson in the past that I cannot compare myself to others and their running, I can only compare myself with my own progress or I am tempted to become discouraged. After my run I went to church and then took my kids shopping for some new jeans and soccer shoes. I was also going to take my daughters Justice books back and exchange them because she had wore them once and a little boy stepped on the back of her boot and the entire sole came off of the boot. When we get to Tulsa (an 1:15 from our home) my daughter says "Mom, did you grab the boots?" Well darn it.......that was the main reason we went out of town could have bought jeans and soccer shoes in town. So I called my husband just to share my irritation, he called me back about 15 minutes later and said that he and his friend would ride thier motor cycles to Tulsa to bring us the boots since they were gonna go riding anyway and it was such beautiful weather. The funniest part was my husband is a large man and looks very intimidating to those who do not know he is a big teddy bear. So he and his biker friend pull up at the Justice store and he takes the my daughters glitter boots in and exchanged them for us before we met up with them. We all laughed...2 biker dudes pulling up to a Justice store and go in to exchange their glitter boots...Lol!!! He also said the lady at the counter looked afraid at first like maybe they were getting ready to be robbed!...lol

I fell veryAlso had a great food victory when my family and a friend went out to eat, I was not very hungry so I chose to not eat when everyone else was. The victory part of this was I felt ok with it, I didn't just sit there and stair at their food wishing I could have some. However, I did think to myself that I will need to come back here after I run the half marathon for a treat because it did look yummy. They had the pizza buffet with breadsticks, cinnamon rolls, brownies....you get the point. Again the victory was it looked good but I felt VERY GOOD about saying no and looking forward to coming back later as a treat. My nonvictory thoughts in the past would have been...I hate dieting...it's just not fair.....who cares if I am fat, my kids still love me and my husband still loves me......after all we are out of town I can't eat healthy away from home, it's just not convenient.... :-) What I did do was go to Target later and get myself some on-the-go tuna salad with crackers, organic fruit snacks, & 100 calorie Lorna Doone sugar cookies. It was good and with in my calorie range at the same time!!! I feel victory in weight loss right around the corner!!!!!

On a final not I discovered a yummy and low calorie lunch the other night at work. It is ham, just a little creamy italian dressing rolled up in lettuce leaves, super yummo and the whole plate was 215 calories and filling. :-)

Over all I had a great day and I feel very blessed with what God has given me. Hope everyone enjoys this beautiful day!!!!
