To Weigh in or Not to Weigh in?

Hi Everyone, I hope you guys are doing good. Sometimes I wish I could comment on all you pages and blogs but just so you know I think about you and read them.

I have been playing with the idea of not weighing myself so much and just focus on creating healthy habits. What do you guys do? I find myself thinking about the number way too much but when I try not to step on the scale I end up doing it anyway. What is my problem, why can't I be happy that I am feeling good or went for my walk. I have to know if I lost any weight. I have to know if the effort I am putting in is paying off. Then I think the number shouldn't be so important. I should focus on how I am feeling or how my clothes are fitting. I am confused, what do you guys think?

My dilemma is should I weigh in every week or once at the beginning of the month and once at the end of the month. In my mind I think that I might lose more weight if I don't focus so much on the number the scale says. Maybe seeing one big number of weight lost as opposed to 2 lbs here and 3 lbs there will make me feel more of an accomplishment. I don't know what to do. I need to just make up my mind already. Please let me know what works best for you. Well thanks for listening to me ramble on. I hope you guys are reaching your goals.     I have been weighing myself weekly just to see how things fluctuate with different meals or exercise. But I am going to start weighing myself weekly. I like the weekly weigh in because it isn't often enough to become obsessive, but it is often enough to make sure I am right on track or need to change something.

    Sometimes people become fixated by a figure - what the scales say. When this happens, it tends to take over and rule their lives. I would be MORE inclined to go by how your clothes feel and your general energy/fitness level than put too much emphasis on what the scales say. If you eat good, healthy food, pay attention to your portions and the balance of your food, and get a good amount of exercise, AND stay well hydrated - mainly with water, then you won't go wrong. You are doing the best for your mind and body - the rest will follow. I USED to weigh about 1x month - it is over 3 months since I last weighed. I don't need to - I can feel where I am, altho' I will be weighing within a couple weeks so that I can put it on paper as a record.

    Everyone is different in that aspect, but I used to weigh myself daily, but started obsessing about it, so I am going to weekly. If you could wait a month (I know I couldn't) that would potentially give you bigger loss. I am curious to see what other people say. :-)
