workout with my hubby

I'm back at blogging today. It may seem like I am not using spark as much as I used to, but I am slowly finding my way without its help (which is my ultimate goal). I am still going to curves 3-5 days a week. I have begun to notice a plateau yet again. My weight has been stuck at 168-170 for over a month, in fact almost 2 months.
I am trying to focus lesson the weight and more on the other non-scale benefits of being active.
1) I can breathe easier, and no longer get out of breath going up the stairs, or doing any other normal activities.
2) My mental space is way healthier than it ever has been in my life. This is huge for me as I have always suffered with depression. I attribute this to eating healthier, taking my vitamins, and drinking enough water. Diet along with exercise has changed my life.
3) I sleep better, and I get fewer headaches.
4) I can go for long walks or exercise with my husband and not even bat an eye. There is no negative thoughts that I can't keep up, or I look out of place at the gym.
Now on to my very first workout at the gym with my husband. We had an amazing time. We put our son in the daycare at our local multiplex. They have a gym there as well as a pool. We started on the treadmill. We did 30 minutes of interval training at our paced with our own music. I kicked my own arse! My fastest speed was 6,and my lowest was 3.9. I burned over 350 calories just on the treadmill. I really pushed my own envelope. It felt amazing! After the treadmill, my husband led me through an upper body workout. I did my best, but I was disappointed in my weight lifting. I have to remember that I was doing something very new. I weight lift at curves, but it is very different at this gym. It felt very cool to feel my muscles failing. I don't push myself enough at curves.
My goal for Christmas is to lose my last 18-20 pounds. I am going to change my program at curves in order to reach my goals. Mon, wed and Friday will be my usual walking briskly on the treadmill for 20 minutes, and then my circuit. Tuesday' and Thursday will be my interval training on the treadmill, and then just once on the circuit. I also must add one more hour of cardio somewhere throughout the week. I am trying to get back into zumba, or try some new class. Also on my husband days off, I would like to visit the multiplex and workout with him.
I feel these changes are necessary to reach my goals. I have had enough of standing still in my weight loss goals. The time is now!!!!
