In order to meet my healthy lifestyle goals, this year has been one of change.
I had so many changes to make there was only one way I could approach my lofty goals, and that was one step at a time ... I began with tracking my nutrition and fitness and slowly getting into a rhythm of daily tracking. Once I had managed to get into a groove of regular tracking, I tackled smoking ... THAT change propelled me to take my tracking even more seriously and since June 16th, I have significantly improved healthy lifestyle habits.
I'm feeling really pleased with how I am progressing ... I am getting to the place where I no longer feel like I am depriving myself from food ... I bought a large cake of dark chocolate yesterday. I haven't opened it because I haven't actually felt like having any. Its there as a treat because sometimes I like to have a decadent sweet and quite frankly, fruit, fruit and even exotic fruit can get a bit dull.
So I'm getting into some great new habits and am very happy with how I feel and look as a result ... so my next challenge is to reduce the number of hours that I spend watching TV. Last Saturday, I watched TV ALL DAY ... sure, I was feeling like having a lazy day, but to watch TV from 8am - 10pm ... only stopping to cook and do my laundry?! I even did my strengths workout and kept watching the TV!
Clearly ... I need a plan - I LOVE good TV ... 'the Newsroom', 'Hell on Wheels', 'Nothing Trivial', 'The Voice', 'Game of Thrones', 'Boardwalk Empire', 'Nurse Jackie', 'Mad Men', 'The Good Wife' ... thank goodness their seasons are not all on at the same time ... and as it is one of my favourite ways to fully relax, I don't want to give up TV watching.
Luckily I can record my favourite programmes, so I have decided that I will only ever turn on the TV when I plan to actually watch something specific. I'll allocate myself one hour per day of TV or 7 hours per week ... I'll start from today and will review my progress each week ... AWESOME!! So no TV for me today ... as 'The Biggest Loser' is on tomorrow night and it goes for 2 hours ... :)
I've got a stack of reading to do, so I best go get it done ... yeh!!!!
