In keeping with the theme of 'starting over' - in a good way - I've joined the 77 Days of Autumn challenge. Its not an 'official' challenge, but that doesn't matter. There will be daily and weekly tasks to help focus me and keep me on track. I find following challenges to be very helpful to keep focus and motivation. I am doing a slight modification - because I'm currently only tracking food in e-Tools (weight watchers), I am looking at keeping to 26 points, with an allowance of up to 2 AP per day for 'treats' or overages. Based on past experience that's a range of 1200 - 1500 calories.
So here's to Autumn - my favourite season. I love the feel of cooler nights, the colour of leaves changing, the smell in the air, the sound of geese flying over head and going south, and the wonderful fall harvest, with apple cider and pumpking pie and all good things.
Plus Halloween, which is like my most favouritist holiday ever. Even better than Christmas. No, its not the candy, though I love handing it out. Its the costuming. All those wonderful costumes.
Three good things from yesterday:
1/ Rock band with friends, not only rocking out on guitar and vocals, but dancing like maniacs with friends of mine to the boppy, poppy songs that were playing.
2/ Cards Against Humanity. My friends are devious and evil, and in a good way. Its so nice to sit down with people who understand you.
3/ I got in the most Activity Points (tracked) that I've ever gotten in, despite going to a party. 10 of them. For walking and dancing and bootcamp and yoga. That's almost 2 hours.
And three goods things about today:
1/ Pickles! I finally got to can pickles today with my mom, using her old recipe, the one I remember from my childhood. We cooked up brine, we stuffed, we boiled. We ran out of garlic and dill before we ran out of cucumbers, so we made up a different (experimental!) brine, a sweeter brine, and got five more jars done. 19 in total.
2/ Nap. I had a proper nap this afternoon. Horribly decadent, but it felt good. Who knew canning could take so much out of a person?
3/ Frozen banana "ice cream". And with a tiny bit of caramel to make it seem decadent.
