Today is the day I become food organized!

I have really been winging my food selections for the past week, and the food tracker has informed me that this IS NOT the way keep my calories in check. So, today I am taking some time to plan out the next week, and that means filling in breakfast, lunch, dinner and snack in the tracker for the next week, printing a grocery list, and actually GOING to the store! My kids start school on Tuesday and I know that the daily chaos is only going to get more chaotic, so I think that having the meals planned out will help a lot. Now, I have done this in the past and have been able to lose weight, no problem. BUT, I seem to fizzle out after about 2 to 3 months and then gain it all back, and more. When I don't know what food we have at home (which is most of the time) I do foolish things like hitting the McD's drive through for the dollar menu meal, or ordering pizza due to lack of planning. Sadly, all the while I feel guilty because I know that I am showing my kid's that it is okay to eat this way. Or, even worse, while eating it I am telling them that the meal is not healthy...talk about feeling like a hypocrite! So to end on a positive note, I am going to try to plan meals a week in advance and be aware of the calories I am consuming each day BEFORE I consume them. Have a great Saturday:-)
