1st Day Tracking

I decided that since this site is full of useful tools, that I might as well try and use some of them.

I started using Spark Coach, and today was the first day that I tracked my food. With everything that I ate today I only ate 645 calories, but I had 73grms of protein! According to my surgeon's office, I should be getting in 800-1000 calories a day, so I guess I need to try and eat more.

I know Im not going to get my fluids in, I think that by the time that I go to bed, I will be at 24 oz and I need at least 48...64 is best.

I even tracked my excersize! I burned 377 calories today :)

Can't wait til Tuesday when I see my MD, hopefully they can give me some ideas on how to work with all of this.

    @Courtney and HHB4: I have become addicted to tracking. And if I don't go and track after everything I put in my mouth, I start feeling anxious. It's insane, but it's working. It's letting me see in plain sight that I am not getting enough calories in, which I know will make the scale tip in the wrong direction. Like you, I wasn't a big drinker, so getting in the fluids feels darn near impossible!

    getting the fluids in is the hardest part! I hate that sloshy feeling, and I really struggle with it every day. Not being a big "drinker" to begin with only adds to the difficulity.

    I will admit... I am obsessed with tracking. I track on Spark as well as another site called Lose It! because it syncs with my FitBit.

    I find tracking to be a wonderful tool... you could almost say it is my hobby

    tracking is hard at first and kind of annoying, but after a while, it'll be come habit. now i HAVE to track, or I feel out of control

    @Holt I had a gastric bypass, so I can't take a lot in. Pre surgery? Yeah, I would have eaten that for breakfast as well! :)

    @Oliva: Cottage cheese has a lot of protein, as does beans, so if you add either of those to one or two meals a day, you should be able to get more protein.

    Wow 800 calories a day. I just ate that for breakfast (I am not happy with that, but it is the truth)

    How did you get so much protein?? I always struggle to get enough and I'm on 1400 calories minimum!
