I can't believe this weekend is Labor Day weekend already. Summer has been so busy, but mainly due to marathon training. I happy to report that all is well on the training front and I'm counting down the final 6 weeks before the big day.

"Knocking on wood", my training has been as good as I could have hoped for. I've successfully ramped up to 18 miles and have the big 19 miler this weekend. This is somewhere I really never imagined I would be. I've been counting down my training by the long runs, starting with 14 and ending in 2 weeks with 20. So, the way that I see it, 2 more long runs left before the big one - not so bad!

The past week and a half or so I've had a little heel / achilles pain in my right foot, but I'm hoping that subsides before Saturday. It really came on when I started wearing my new pair of shoes, so hopefully it's nothing.

I ran a half marathon last weekend in Milwaukee with the hubby and I finally managed to beat 2 hours so that was very exciting for me! It was a goal conquered, but honestly too fast a pace for me to keep up (my husband was literally dragging me nearly in tears across the finish line at 1hr 57min).

But, aside from that I will say I definitely miss strength training more than once per week and I feel like my body is a little messed up. I've gained a few pounds from training, which seems backwards, but who knows.

Enough running talk!!! I feel like all I do is work, run, sleep and eat these days.

Anyways, looking forward to a lovely weekend in Chicago - I am planning to do a few summer things I haven't gotten around to yet (beach, golf, hang out downtown)....and not to mention the start of college football!!! GO BLUE - Beat Alabama!!!!!

Hope everyone has a great weekend. emoticon

What an accomplishment...your running, very impressive. I've always said, I wonder what it would be like to be a runner, but I've never tried. More props to you!
